According to OSHA, workplace violence is “any act or threat of physical violence, harassment, intimidation, or other threatening disruptive behavior that occurs at work.”

During a time when employees may be experiencing additional stress due to the economy, disruption of daily routines, reduced work hours or layoffs, employers should be prepared to identify potential threats and have policies and procedures in place to prevent workplace violence.
